Hi Parents,
Only one more sleep and then we have our last day of school and then its holiday time!!
I was walking to the beach today with Sadie and she said, "i love school, i would come every day, i love summer, but at school you are always with your friend!"
I know right???
I love school too!!
But I also love summer and families and the beach and reading, so I look forward to all that, but know I will miss everyone as well and look forward to more stories from everyone!
I am putting up some pictures that I took at the beach today before the rain fell. In the short time that we were there we: ate popsicles, dug holes, played baseball, football, soccer, swam a little and collected sea shells. We had fun!

Enjoy the pictures!

Good Morning Everyone,
Yes, on my day off, I still think of everyone at Bayview!!
What lovely weather we have been having here, sunny and hot!
This is now the reminder to everyone that children should be having sunscreen put on their faces and arms before they come to school. They should have a hat that they need to wear while playing outside and they should have a clean filled waterbottle sitting on their desk to fully hydrate them throughout the day. You should see their red little cheeks when they come in from lunchtime. Our classroom is very hot, so i have been encouraging them to take of their sweaters and hats while inside and to drink plenty of fluids. But reminding them to bring home their bottles and get them cleaned would be helpful so they can have fresh water every morning.

We had a great week last week. It was filled with a super field trip to the Pacific Spirit Park, a visit from Nikoo and some raw beet samples, a visit from Dahlia and Ebony (our last visit) and a good bye to Elena (she should be back in Switzerland now). I will try to post some pictures of these experiences.

Now this week it is also a full week so please record it on your calendar.
1) On Wednesday we talk ants. We will be reading ant stories, making ant pictures, doing ant writing and watching an ant video...hopefully I will be able to show everyone Brady and Ryan's awesome home video clip of the ants in their neighbourhood. Amazing!

2) On Thursday.....busy Thursday....IMPORTANT INFORMATION HERE!!

Nepal Bake sale:
This Thursday our school will be having a bake sale, organized and thought out by boys in our class (Brady, Ryan, and Ben B) and some children in Ms. Jung's class. The funds raised from this bake sale will go to the Nepalese people because of the serious earthquake that was there a little while ago. Because our class is hosting this bake sale, we are hoping to get a lot of baked goods to sell from our class. If you are able to send any baked goods we would be very appreciative. We will be selling every item for one dollar. If you cannot bake but you would like to send money for your child to buy items, that would be wonderful too.
Thank you for your support in advance!

On Thursday afternoon Ms. Gina's class will be hosting the play that her class has been working on for months. The grade 6 and 7 class has worked very hard and are putting on a play called Pirates and Poets. Because more money was put into the sets this year the children are asked to contribute two dollars per person to see the play. If you can send it in as well that would be wonderful.

3) This Friday: In the morning the grade twos will be making raspberry icecream, to celebrate the warm weather. After recess we will work with Mrs. MacDonald in the library on a mini fairy tale unit and after lunch we will join Mr. Hodson to watch his movie that his class made at the church across the street.

What a week!
With that, I am hoping everyone is happy and healthy!
Take care!
Teri
