Division 10's News of the Week

Good Morning, It's official! We are on Spring Break!! And a lovely first day of Spring Break it is! I am sending this out today to wish everyone a great holiday!! Take the break that you so richly deserve! The children have worked hard! Played hard!! and learned sooo much this term. Their little brains and bodies deserve to just play!! Speaking of play!! WE had a great play day!!THis blog will be mostly pictures today! The pictures are of 1)our Day of play...just look at the structures/buildings that they created out in our forest area! The team work and the cooperation was amazing!! no we did not build the tent structure!! 2) the second set of pictures are of us doing our STEAM challenge. Make a bridge using pipecleaners and plastercine and see if you can hold your pot of gold on the top of the arch. The children learned words like pier, deck, arch and supports. WE watched videos of great bridges and listened to engineers talk about how they created their structures and then set out to try making our strongest bridges. They were to try it once, then see if they could make it stronger and then stronger again! Was a great challenge for them!! 3) Final set of pictures was taken on Friday.We planted our Spuds in Tubs. We looked at the potato. REad some potato stories and then planted our spuds. Im sorry for the few children who were away and couldnt take part in the planting. But you will for sure get to take part in the watching it grow. WE will be planting many many things over the next few months! I love the Spring and i love planting!! Watching things grow is like watching the children in the class grow. And with that...enjoy the pictures and enjoy your holiday. See you back in two weeks!! xoxo ms t
