Did we luck out with some nice weather on Saturday. I hope you embraced the day and sat out in the sunshine! Fingers crossed for more of where that came from!
This will be a short email full of pictures. The children love when I take pictures of them and then post them for you to see. The pictures speak for themselves of the fun that we are having in the class ...learning and embracing the friendships of each other!
Before we get into the pictures just a one things that I want to talk about.
1) Home Reading and the importance of home reading. Reading daily is very important to the growth of the children's reading ability. The more you read the better you get the easier it is, the more they enjoy it...it is a beautiful cycle that I see happening with all the grade 2's. Sitting beside your child, pointing to words, talking about print, reading to them helps them grow. Because it is so important to do on a daily basis it is important to help your child remember to put their book into their back pack every day so that we can do our DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) every afternoon and then exchange our books for new ones. I understand that there are some occasions that make it difficult to read on that one day...but still send the home reading back as they will still do it in class. And with that enjoy the pictures!
