Happy Easter long weekend!!
I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the lovely outdoors!! I am soo happy that today is as spectacular as it is and in a little bit Im off to our West Van seawall to enjoy the fresh air and a lovely walk! Last week was a great week at school. The children were so excited to be back after a long two week spring break and were particularly excited to tell me what they did and then also write about it. We did a lot of writing this last week. We wrote about Potatoes, daffodils, the easter bunny and spring break. We did lots of math, finishing up a lot of our pre-spring break math work. Then we spent plenty of time outside as well. We spent time observing our Daffodils in our flower box behind the portables. Last year Ms. Jung's class planted the daffies and my class planted the tulips (which are not up yet) so we spent time learning about the parts of the daffodil and then writing our observations of them and then of course as our treat..we did some daffie art!! They turned out stunning!! Our potatoes are growing beautifully and on Thursday Felix brought in some fertilizer from his dads company and we added it to our spuds. Will it make them grow stronger and healthier..we predict yes!! We also observed some potatoes and worked on our science experiment. We put toothpicks into the spud, put the spud in the water in a jar and then put that on our windowsill. Hopefully we will see some magic happening when we get back tomorrow. Because we were all excited about Easter we made some eggheads. I brought in some eggshells, we filled them with soil and then added some wild flower seeds to the eggshell...we are hoping to also some growth over the weekend. Next week we will do more planting and observing. It is the season for growing and I love watching things grow!!! As do the children. With that, i hope everyone stays healthy!! Play outside and wash your hands!! Enjoy the pictures! xo t
