Is this white powdery stuff outside SNOW!!!?????? Well, this was sure a good year to do a winter unit!! I am a little bit SHOCKED as I was already introducing words like "crocus" and flowers into our spelling...I think I may have to revisit this! haha
With that, I hope everyone gets out there and enjoys this beautiful whiteness!
It was great seeing all the parents at the Gala on Friday night. What a beautiful venue. Thank you to all the parents from our class who helped decorate the gym. It was absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations to Reid's family who bought our platter. It certainly is a beauty! I hope you enjoy this piece of art!!
It has been two weeks since I have blogged due to the busy time of report cards. Report cards will go out on the last day of school which is next Friday. Time flies when you are having fun...I can't even believe that two terms are almost over. I have loved every second (I kid you not) of this year so far and really look forward to a wonderful third term!
This next week we have some wonderful things planned:
On Monday, Cecily will come in for the fourth time to do another social responsibility lesson.
Last week we talked about the importance of inclusion and how it felt to exclude others and how it felt to be excluded!! The children all participated in some wonderful discussion and I think they really understand this concept.
This Monday afternoon we will be having a Hip Hop dance troup come in. That's pretty exciting as it will be interesting to see this group especially after doing our own dance unit with Lisa in first term.
On Tuesday we will have Mr. T join us to do our ipad unit. Ask the children what they have been working on. Mr. T says he loves working with this group of children and said they have learned so much about the ipad...likely even more than me!!
This Friday, our last day of school for the term, will be our day of play. We will revisit that wonderful time we had in first term and just play. A newsletter will be sent out to you to remind you of what we did. The children will have the opportunity to play in our classroom and then visit other classrooms to play and build and create. On this day, the children are invited to bring in their own toys, that they want to share, puzzles, games, etc...but no electronics. It is a wonderful way to end off our second term of school.
I have a lot of pictures that i will be posting which will show you all the wonderful things that we have been doing in class.
Have a great day and enjoy the snow!
