Good Morning and Happy Father's Day,
I hope all the daddy's out there got their little gifts that the children worked so hard on and their beautiful cards! They were all so excited about what they made for you and what they said about you...also if you look at their spelling tests from Friday, on the flip side is their dream date for you...if they could do anything and the sky was the limit...wow...i would love to go on some of those dates!! Today is a lovely day and I hope you are able to spend it with your family.

These last two weeks have been zooming by and it is with a melancholy heart that i am bundling things up, taking things down, finishing projects up and am realizing that it is almost the end of the year. I think i do say this every year, but boy does time fly when you are having fun. I think we all had a lot of fun while learning many valuable life lessons, virtues, how to be socially responsible, about the birds (penguins) and the bees (ubc farms), how to garden...we are great gardeners, and so much about our indigenous people..thank you to Deana Michels who supported and facilitated this program. We will continue to work on our projects as we still have plenty to do but intersperse it with many more fun activities...so i will list the daily activities and if you need to send anything for them...with that..hope your day and weekend will be awesome...see you all on Monday.

Tuesday, June 19th: We will harvest our spuds in tubs that are growing at the church

Wednesday, June 20th:  We will be having a Potlatch that we are asking everybody to bring in a little something (yes it's a potlatch, not a potluck..but similar). Deana will be here for our last class get together with her and we will present her with the button blanket that we made for her in class. We will be making our spuds for today to share with her, but we would also like it if everyone brought a little something that was of the indigenous people. For example berries, spinach, lettuce, vegetables, salmon, bannock, raisins etc...things that the indigenous people may have gathered and ate. But not things like oranges or bananas....if you get my drift. And if you do not or cannot or are too busy, that is just fine. I know we will have plenty. It's just so the children can get an idea of how a potlatch might have worked.

Thursday June 21st: Vancouver Public Library will be in to present their Summer Reading Program and then after Nina, Marcus and Reid will be presenting their Passion Projects that they worked on with Ms. Ryan, our resource teacher.

Friday, June 22nd: We end our buddy time with Mr. A, but playing outside and eating an ice cream treat...always greatly awaited by both classes. Then at noon we will leave for Jericho Park, we will eat our lunch at the beach and then we will do Beach Art. Today is not the traditional Beach day..it is ART AT THE BEACH Day......so please send a lunch for your child this day...also if it is a hot lunch, maybe you can call them and have them pack it up for us to take with us, or cancel the order if that is possible. However if it is raining, then we will not go.

With that..for this next week..that is what we are doing.
I am excited!! So I know the children will be as well.
Enjoy the pictures..
