Your children were very happy to make their gifts for you and hopefully they will remember to give them to you as well!!
I hope everyone embraces their child and their day. From me to you and your families..have a great one!
To start I once again want to congratulate Jayden and his family..they were the winners of the raffle of our platter. If i could have recorded the delight and picture of Jayden's face it was priceless. I also just want to compliment all the children who applauded for Jayden and weren't sad that they didnt get the platter this year. We will be celebrating next week with some special activities from the money raised.
We have a busy, fun week to look forward to, and can you believe that we only have 9 school days left??? Time is flying by!
Monday: On Monday afternoon we will be walking to our second Purple Dragon Karate experience. We will be leaving at 100. Is there anyone who would like to walk with us? We need one adult to take up the rear. Let me know if you can do this.
Tuesday: It is our last Growing r Chef experience. We will be doing one more planting in our water bottles...science and gardening linked together. We will be saying good bye to our team and receiving our certificates. It has been a wonderful experience for our group and we were lucky to receive such great instruction.
Wednesday: We will be baking bannock with Deana and one of Deana's colleagues, Joyce. This will be our final activity with Deana. We have learned so much from her as you likely have seen while looking through your First Nation's portfolio that your child has brought home. Today we will also have the opportunity to go and see the Grade 7's Science Projects in the afternoon.
Friday: We will be having an ice cream party with Mr. A's class, our buddy class. I usually buy some yummy ice cream treat. I know that a few children are ice cream sensitive. Let me know and I will get some that are ones that they can eat.
I told the children that behavioral expectations still need to be positive. They need to be active listeners (like the wolf), be patient and respectful like the bear and critical thinkers like the salmon. We continue to work on all our projects. We continue to do math daily write daily and read daily, so behaviour and focus is still critical even though we are winding down. Please discuss that with your child.
Finally, on Wednesday is our school walk through. We say good bye to Bayview by celebrating what we have. The school will be open from 300 till 700 to the community. People from the past, teachers, principals, parents, students will be coming through to visit. We hope you and your family will come through too. There is a memory wall in the hallway where you can write a little message on the wall with the sharpies that are there. Feel free to write a message anytime during the week. A memory, a wish, a want..something if you want. I hope to see you!
