What a lovely day and what a lovely week it has been.Sun and blue skies! I hope everyone spent a lot of time outside. It has been glorious!
First off I want to congratulate all the children who did such an outstanding job with their dancing. They showed off their skills and did not show off! I was sooo proud! If you didnt get to see it, I think there are a few parents who did record the dance. We thanked Lisa with a beautiful booklet of love and appreciation and some beautiful patio flowers. She is certainly a wonderful teacher who shared kindness and a passion for dancing. Thank you again to the PAC and parents who raise money to make these types of programs possible for the children!
Another program made possible by the PAC is the growing chef program. So this week had us making salad and salad dressing and eating the delish meal that we created. Well, not all ate it all up, but we all tried it. I took tons of pictures which will be posted so enjoy. We have two more sessions of GrowingChef! The next time we get together we will be making a stir fry with lots of vegetables and perhaps a pea soup. New things and new experiences for the children to try.
As you can see the boxes are piling up and I am slowly packing things up. I have tried to keep the classroom still a bright and workable classroom, their art and work is still on the walls, they still have many books to read and we will work till the end..awww...im sure they would love to just go into play mode already..but...nope! On MOnday I am given time to do more packing and will be doing that after lunch. Thus the children will be enjoying the beach with Ms. Bailey. This is what the plan is for that day. We will all walk to Jericho beach at 1100. We will participate in creating sculptures and art with found objects. At 100 Ms. Bailey will be there and I will return to the school to pack and the children will continue to be there creating and enjoying the sunshine and sand. They will eat their lunch at the beach, but they will NOT go into the water. So please send your child with a towel to sit on for their picnic, a picnic lunch (so make sure they do not have a hot lunch that day), and sunscreen and a hat. They do NOT need a bathing suit as there will be no swimming or water access. Lily's mom will be walking with us there and helping supervise. If anyone else would like to join us then that is wonderful as well, let me know. I will take pictures of their sculptures for you to see.
With that, have a great Sunday,
Enjoy the pictures and I will see everyone at the door bright and early MOnday and know we will have a wonderful week at school!
take care,
teri
