Division 10's News of the Week

Good Morning and Happy first day of November! It is also Happy first day after Halloween! I hope everyone had a safe and FUN night out! My husband and I so enjoyed the kids that came by and really noticed the care they took to being "covid safe". I too set up a different display with treats out on a table and lots of lights and pumpkins for them to enjoy as well. It was a different night, but it looked like those families that came by truly enjoyed their night! I cant wait to hear about the fun tomorrow. But not to wreck the fun...please have your children leave their candies, and chips at home to savour after their day at school. Now if you feel you have a surplus of candy/chips/treats at home consider donating them to the classroom..and no its not for me!! Every year for the last 10 years I have been taking all the extras to the Food Bank or to the Covenant House. They have been so excited and grateful to be the recipients of these treats, so if you would like to donate, then I will collect them and we will distribute them accordingly. You can send them with your children and I will put it into a box to take down to these two locations. The class had a great week last week, full of pumpkin stories and pumpkin fun! I hope the pumpkins made it home in one piece as well as their seeds to roast or dry for planting. The children did pumpkin math and pumpkin science..did you know pumpkins float??? The children all used safety knives to cut and clean out their pumpkins as well as to carve their faces. They had to design their face first and then they used the knives independently to carve their pumpkin. THey had sooo much fun as you can see by the pictures. Finally before I post all the lovely pictures...I want to thank each and everyone of you for signing up for the conferences. It was a first for me to do virtual conferences. Thank you for making it so easy and fun to meet all of you! I wish it could have been in person, but maybe for our next ones! You all have lovely children and it has been a pleasure getting to know them and work with them. I am one lucky person who gets to do the job she loves every day!!
