Did you spring ahead???? I was just getting used to it being bright when I got up and drove to school and now it's dark again!
But imagine, the evenings now will be bright and sunny leading us into our last week of school before Spring Break. I hope everyone will have a splendid break. I'm off to Cabo for 7 days and am looking forward to some sunshine!
Thank you to everyone who came to our Parent-teacher-child conferences. I enjoyed talking to all the parents and I know the children all enjoyed sharing their work with you. The penguin packages will be coming home next week, so you can start planning for what you need to frame very soon!!
We had our last day of skating on Friday. And for those of us who were there certainly noticed the improvement of skating over the three sessions. We had many hockey players at the north end!!
It was a great week at school. Students from UBC came in and taught us about planting...we have some eggshell seedlings planted ....hopefully they will continue to grow over the holidays as it is a two week break. When we get back we will be starting to plant our Spuds in Tubs....so that will be exciting.
This last week also brought us a great performance about the water cycle and about how important it is to conserve and treat our precious resource respectfully!
We also made some delicious Chow Mein to end our feasts of the Chinese New Year. The Grade two's did a marvelous job of chopping the vegies!
Next week Nina's dad, Mark will be in, to talk about Nepal and how to write our name in the Nepalese way (am i saying that right Mark?). Deana our First Nations teacher will be in on Wednesday and we will talk about the importance of the Eagle, and we will also be talking about Night and Day, sunrise and sunset and the cycle of the moon. Reid's grandfather, Paul will be in to do our next session of Story Writing. A busy week before we wrap it up for Spring Break.
With that, enjoy the last of our skating pictures and more.
Have a great day and I will see you all tomorrow.
Cheers,
Teri
